A word of advice on that is to lengthen the time frame you provide during initial contact and reduce it as you get closer to the finish line. The issue you could run into is that if they see you provide such an aggressive time-frame out of the gate, it makes it more likely that they’ll ignore future time frames when they are arguably more important. If your BIN is justified, as in you’re not shooting for the moon and willing to move significantly, don’t counter. Even if you are a motivated seller, saying something like, “I’m sure we could work something out but not at that level.” Then leave it at that. The ball’s in their court. Then follow up with them every few weeks months, etc. Whichever time-frame is appropriate.
