#Icann Leaving the #US in the Dust

ICANN isn’t making it any easier on the rumor mill by confirming that the organization is choosing to have a non-US headquarters. It has been stated that ICANN will have the new headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. They are planning this move to become a more international organization. Although the organization may not be able to move because of their economic ties to the United States Department of Commerce. A panelist meeting will commence this week in order to advise ICANN on how to keep their Affirmation of Commitments with the US. In my opinion separating themselves from the United States is a positive move for the organization. However, removing themselves to go to a country that is known for their neutrality seems that ICANN is making a bit of a cowardly move. ICANN has made numerous decisions to move away from the United States since the recent spying and Snowden ...
