Sunrise Period for .EE Internationalised Domain Names Commences

A sunrise period commenced for .EE domain names containing letters with diacritical marks, or internationalised domain names commenced on 16 May the Estonian Internet Foundation announced. The sunrise period enables reservation of .EE domain names containing letters with diacritical marks based on a prior right (trademarks, names of physical and legal persons) before commencement of registration of such domain names on a first-come, first-served basis. This pre-registration has been organised in cooperation with the Association of the Estonian Patent Attorneys. “The international experience has proved the need for such a sunrise period.
