How do top tech companies compare when it comes to mobile site speed?

Google has been putting more and more emphasis on page load time, especially as more people around the world end up experiencing the web via a mobile device. To help people understand how they stack up, Google released a tool to calculate mobile site speed with the default set to 4G. I thought it would be fun to put in some of the top tech companies out there like Uber, Facebook, and even good old IBM to see how they stack up when it comes to mobile site speed. Here are the results…and yes, they all own their matching .COM domain: I was actually pretty surprised to see IBM with a mobile load time of 3.5s, I was thinking they’d be dead last. Lyft looks like they also probably have a bit of work to do when it comes to site speed, but let’s be honest, in their case, just like Uber’s, it probably doesn’t matter since they acquire customers through their app. If you run a websi...
