Google autocomplete search now promotes sponsored results Posted by DomainGang on March 16, 2015, at 3:38 pm Google is experimenting with changes in its search algorithm, and even the autocomplete feature is about to be affected. Enabled by default, the Google autocomplete generates results in the search bar at the same time as someone types in. The first group of results appears to be as expected. If you search for Toyota , the options that drop down include, for example, Toyota of Orlando, Toyota of Melbourne, Toyota highlander and other related queries. What has changed, is what happens when one clicks enter, gets a bunch of results, and decides to go back to the search bar. This time around, the results are populated with sponsored searches in mind: Toyota recall, Honda, Nissan , and other such goodies.
